H-Variant = Carbide for hardness up to 50-52 HRC.
The standard recess tool are made of HSS and coated with titanium carbonitride.
These recess tools can machine steel with a maximum hardness of 40-42 HRC.
It should be noted that as the hardness of the steel increases, the service life of the recess tool is considerably reduced.
The H-Variant are made of carbide and suitable for hardened steels up to a hardness of 50-52 HRC.
